The 27th World Customs Organization (WCO) Asia/Pacific Regional Heads of Customs Administration Conference underscored the collective commitment to advancing regional priorities through a series of high-level presentations and dynamic discussions. The meeting was held last month in Hong Kong, People's Republic of China.
Joining the conference was Awang Muhammad Azizil Hakim bin Haji Brahim, Acting Controller of Royal Customs and Excise Department. The gathering not only highlighted the region's leadership in shaping modern customs practices, but also reinforced a strong culture of collaboration and information exchange among WCO Asia/Pacific members.
Aside from the conference, the Royal Customs and Excise Department also conducted bilateral talks with Korea Customs Service, focusing on possible customs cooperation such as Customs Mutual Assistance Agreement, combating illicit trade, capacity-building initiatives and information sharing.
